Our journey started at Colgate University, where our paths crossed and our friendship began. After a momentous experience as runner-ups in a Business Plan Competition during our senior year, we made a pact to venture into the business world together. Our shared passion for watches and a determination to challenge the conventional norms of the watch industry, which often result in exorbitant prices, served as the catalyst for our venture.

Kitai Meaning
Kitai is a combination of the co-founders' names, Nikita and Tayumika. In addition, it carries a deep meaning in Japanese, symbolizing hope, expectation, and anticipation. This name encapsulates the heart of the brand.
